Creation has always been Mariah Michaud’s first language.
Before Cleo Salt existed, before the jars and the brand, she moved through the world
as an artist, someone who listened closely to beauty, to nature, to the Divine, and to
the deeper currents moving beneath ordinary life.
Salt was one of the elements that kept returning to her awareness.
Across civilizations, salt has sustained life itself. It preserved food before refrigeration existed.
It sealed covenants. It purified, healed, and nourished the body.
Entire trade routes were built upon it.
Salt has never been a small thing.
And yet in the modern world, this most essential element has been reduced
to something cheap, processed, and forgettable.
Mariah could feel that something about this was deeply wrong.
A Calling
One passage had followed her for years.
"You are the salt of the earth."

For centuries, this phrase carried meaning far beyond the kitchen. Salt represented purity, preservation, value, and what is essential to life itself.
